This summer has been veeeery busy!
I became part of the KoenPack Design Studio in Alsmeer voor almost the last 3 months. KoenPack is a marketleader in de B2B packaging business for the flower and plants farming industry.
In connection with the Annual International Flower Fair (Royal FloraHolland in Alsmeer), I reinforced the team and helped with the making of their new catalogue, over 200 pages of products.
It was great to experience the Dutch working week of such a model company, next to nice collegues, professional designers, experts in packaging and not to mention being part of the volleyball team at the staff party!
Thank you KoenPack B.V. for this opportunity!
Exhibition Design of a small Museum
We designed and layout in only 2 weeks one room from the local library and transformed it in a mini-museum in 2009 relating the history and champions of Speedway in Slovenia and over the World. I designed all informative panels and modernized the retro Speedway logo. On the special opening day full of emotions came former legends of Speedway from all over Slovenia to cut the ribbon and celebrate this small part of Slovene history, for which I had the privilege to bring my creativity.
The Museum is still open and can be visited on request.

The BriefMy client had a good running website and an online shop selling a unique American brand of leather shoes. I was asked to translate all content from English to French, not only the products but also the blogposts. In this way he could reach the non English-speaking French (potential) customers. He aims to the long term and plans to expand to other countries outside the Netherlands as the unique and official reseller in the whole Europe.
My ApproachI was new to the shoe industry and leather goods but I could feel the passion and the dream that my client was living so far when starting his shop 7 years ago in the heart of Amsterdam. That is what brought me to accept the challenge and dive deeply into the shoe jargon I needed to study to perform my translations. Luckily the website was built with WordPress and was running well. I could immediately add value to my services by processing all translation texts into the website directly. Saving indeed a lot of time to my client! After months, there was even no need for him to prepare and send me the texts in separate documents, just mentionning what had been added was enough, I could see new articles and products directly in the WordPress administration dashboard of the website.
The ResultsThe whole website is running fully in French, alike the original English site, and each item can be ordered entirely in French language. Minor typos, and dead links that I see in the source pages are also corrected. All blog stories are in a very short time translated and published in French on my client’s request. It is rewarding to have created such a long-term collaboration. Check the website here: US Shoe Shop in Amsterdam
During a family visit in Montreal, Canada, I met Stephane and we had a good talk about our respective work. I went back to Europe and he contacted me shortly after about his need to translate his website in English.
For those who have never been to Montreal, it is surprising to see everything and everywhere translated in 2 languages, I mean also advertisement in the streets and packages from products which are in Canadian French and in English, the labels are designed with double space for texts and slogans. Even famous names of fast-food chains are localized in French!
I read Stephane’s website entirely in French and as usual did my reseach in his field of expertise: Coaching and Consulting for Corporates. I then performed my translation in English and delivered the texts for the deadline agreed. He then processed my texts onto his website.
My client has a bilingual website perfectly synchronised in English and French.

Project 17For nearly 4 years, I was the inhouse graphic designer for a book publishing not-for-profit company and newspaper editor. 17 books were published (themes: history, biography, poetry, cooking, sport, etc …), mostly hardcovers. I also designed and did the layout of articles and advertising spaces in the newspaper (Posavski Obzornik, www.posavje.info), photography (book covers, portraits), designed the corporate identity of the company itself (business cards, marketing dossier, logos, banners for events, flags, street billboards, etc…). I built also with Joomla a complete website www.neviodunum.si and was in charge of the original creation, design and development of the web portal of the Institute. Some of the books are still for sale by the publisher on its current website:
